Phil Jackson marched in Chicago during the 1968 Democratic National Convention protests. As a result of the protests, “The Chicago Seven” were all charged with inciting a riot. Jackson’s teammate Cazzie Russell was serving in the National Guard at the time and he was stationed as a sharpshooter overlooking the protests.
