“One source said he (McGee) is not happy with the Warriors for not giving him a shot at the starting slot and giving all of the mid-level to free agent guard Nick Young. McGee believed his play this season earned him more minutes and money, and is looking for that on the market,” Marcus Thompson III writes.
McGee could earn more money elsewhere, but he’s built a strong reputation with the Warriors while basically resurrecting his career. It’s tough to leave that, no doubt.
It doesn’t help that the Warriors young big men are impressing in Summer League.

McGee needs to make a decision soon, as the market will only shrink from here on out. Perhaps the contract he thinks he deserves isn’t out there right now.
Another one-year deal in Golden State for less than he’s worth might be the right option here, but that’s a tough sell.
